Eighth cooperation: 50 Hertz focusses on sector coupling

Leipzig - When the sun is shining and the wind is blowing, there is a risk that the grids will be overloaded. Green electricity plants are therefore often curtailed. The transmission system operator 50 Hertz prefers to utilise such surplus electricity in power-to-heat plants to generate "green" district heating. One such plant has now gone into operation in Leipzig.
