BDEW presents revised standard load profiles

Berlin - Grid operators in particular are dependent on well-balanced standard load profiles. The BDEW's previous standard load profiles date back to 1999 - when private PV systems were still a rarity, not to mention storage systems. The association has recognised this and has now presented new profiles.

Rabot offers smart meters "for free"

Hamburg/Saarlouis - The slow roll-out of smart meters has prompted the provider of dynamic electricity tariffs Rabot Energy to launch a sales offensive. The company is offering customers the chance to have a smart meter installed free of charge if they sign up to one of the company's tariffs. The installation will be carried out by partner Inexogy.

Reserve power plants as a price damper? Industry predominantly against

Essen - The winter of 2024/25 was characterised by repeated dark lulls. The price peaks were the subject of some heated discussions in the industry. One much-noticed proposal was to use the existing reserve power plants to curb prices. The proposal even made it into the exploratory paper of the CDU/CSU and SPD. But it has also been widely criticised.
