New edition of the gas price cap not ruled out after all

Brussels - The EU Commission is considering reintroducing the gas price cap in view of the rapid rise in gas prices. This was confirmed by energy policy spokesperson Anna-Kaisa Itkonen. An alliance of eleven associations is therefore sounding the alarm.

NRW Minister Neubaur calls for flexible power plants

Essen - North Rhine-Westphalia is investing over 750 million euros in the second climate protection package. The aim is to enable economic growth in combination with the green transformation. Thirty-five measures are aimed at renewable energies, among other things. According to NRW Minister of Economic Affairs Mona Neubaur, these alone are not enough.

DIW warns against "stop-and-go" energy policy

Berlin - The German Institute for Economic Research (DIW) has given the coalition government a favourable report card on energy policy, stating that it is better than its reputation, but adding that there is still room for improvement. It says that a possible slowing down of the energy and heat transition after the change of government would be harmful.
