EU increases aid for power grid in Ukraine
Brussels - The European Union is helping Ukraine with millions more to repair its power plants. In addition, more electricity is to flow from the EU to Ukraine in winter. This was announced by EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. However, some of Ukraine's neighbouring countries are protesting against this.

Energy Union remains a construction site
Strasbourg - Much still needs to be done to integrate the internal energy market. The outgoing EU energy minister Kadri Simson agrees with many MEPs on this. That said, opinions differed during the debate on the status report on the Energy Union in the EU Parliament.

Leipzig - Speaking at the East German Energy Forum in Leipzig, Christian Pegel, construction minister for the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, called for the courage to make mistakes in the administration. He said that without this, it would not be possible to speed up the expansion of the grids. A panel discussion also highlighted the progress that has been made.

Zukunft Gas seeks more backing for Bio-LNG
Berlin - In a paper, the association Zukunft Gas has called for the political promotion of bio-LNG in heavy-duty transport. It says a higher greenhouse gas quota is needed by 2030 and the energy tax on biofuels should also be reduced.
