BSW party wants to nationalise grids
Berlin - According to its short election manifesto, BSW, the party of former Left Party leader Sahra Wagenknecht, wants to nationalise the grids. The party also wants to abolish the Heating Act. However, it does not take a position on many energy policy issues.

Energy industry drives CO2 reduction forward
Berlin - According to a study by the Agora Energiewende think tank, Germany will emit three per cent less greenhouse gases in 2024 than in the previous year. The study identifies effects in the energy industry as the main cause. However, the carbon footprints of the transport, buildings and industry sectors still have room for improvement.

Poland wants to reduce the EU's dependence on Russia
Brussels - Poland took over the EU Council Presidency at the start of the year. In terms of EU energy policy, the country wants to further reduce Europe's dependence on Russian energy sources and lower energy prices. Poland does not have much time to set the course here.

SPD board accuses CDU of tactics in grid fees
Berlin - In a resolution paper, the SPD party committee has once again spoken out in favour of stabilising grid fees. The party executive reproaches the CDU/CSU for this. The SPD also proposes a Made-in-Germany bonus.
